Artist Sharon Fergusson has a gift for capturing the personality
of the animals she paints...

"It's a wonderful feeling to present a completed pet portrait to the owner and see how moved they are by it" says Sharon. "Especially when the pet has passed away and is missed by their family every day. I am so grateful for the ability to bring their beloved pet to life on canvas for them"
Growing up in Auckland New Zealand, Sharon has been painting and drawing since early childhood. She is inspired by the relationships between people, nature and the environment, both man made and natural elements. She expresses her feelings about these relationships via a wide choice of subjects and mediums.
Sharon particularly enjoys capturing animals on canvas. "I get very attached to the pet I'm painting, falling in love with each one more and more as I recreate him or her with paint and brush" she says. "When the portrait is complete and the owner has taken it away, I miss that fur-baby for a bit!"
